Oakville, ON (July 25, 2024) – The Smilezone Foundation is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of its 10th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, held at Lionhead Golf Club in Brampton, Ontario on July 22, 2024. This year’s event supported by lead sponsor, The Slaight Foundation, raised over an impressive $300,000 (after expenses), pushing the total funds raised over the past decade to a remarkable $2 million. These funds directly support Smilezone Foundation’s mission to transform spaces in hospitals and healthcare facilities to create more joyful and comforting environments for children and their families.
This milestone event brought together 340 enthusiastic golfers including 70 celebrated athletes from the NHL, CFL, Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Association and PWHL, all united by their commitment to creating Smilezones that harness the uplifting power of a smile for kids and their families. The celebrity lineup included prominent figures such as Ryan O’Reilly (Nashville Predators and this year’s Smilezone Ambassador), Paul Henderson (Canadian Hockey Legend),
Sean Monahan (Winnipeg Jets), Anthony Cirelli (Tampa Bay Lightning), Corey Perry (Edmonton Oilers), Emma Maltais (PWHL Toronto and Olympic Gold Medalist) and Victoria Bach (PWHL Toronto) who generously donated their time and star power to the cause.
